Artemis geology training in Iceland -- jsc2026e405534

From left, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Aki Hoshide, chief training officer John Ray, EVA task officer Bridget Scheib, and NASA astronaut candidate Cameron Jones participate in a navigation training activity in Iceland as part of an Artemis geology field training expedition. Iceland’s diverse volcanic terrain is an excellent stand-in for lunar and planetary processes and provides an ideal environment in which to simulate surface science operations.
