A U.S. Army Air Forces Boeing B-17F-10-BO Flying Fortress (s/n 41-24457, "The Aztec's Curse") of the 26th Bombardment Squadron, 11th Bombardment Group leaving the target after a strike against Japanese shipping off Ghizo Island, Solomon Islands, 5 October 1942. The aircraft was later assigned to the 31st BS, 5th BG and was written off after a crashlanding due to brake failure on 23 April 1943.
