Car stuck on a muddy road, ca. 1924
The Washington State Good Roads Association was founded in 1899 to push for tax money to improve the state's roads. In the 1920s, the group paid the Webster & Stevens company to take photos of very poor roads in the King County area. This 1920s photo shows an automobile stuck in axle-deep frozen mud on a deeply rutted country road. *Subjects (LCTGM): Automobiles; Roads; Ruts; Mud; Washington State Good Roads Association
