DPAA Mission SOLOMON ISLANDS
A local worker shovels backfill soil on Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, Aug. 3, 2019. During the recovery mission, DPAA personnel and augmentees spent their days digging and screening in hopes of finding missing U.S. Marines lost during the first allied offensive in the Pacific Theater of World War II. The Agency’s mission is to provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel to their families and the nation. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Michael O'Neal)
