House in front of the Birwood Wall, Detroit, 1941
A house in front of the Birwood Wall in the present-day Eight Mile-Wyoming neighborhood of Detroit, Michigan in August 1941. A group of children playing near the house are looking at the photographer, and those children are likely the subject of another photograph in the same series by John Vachon. The site of this photograph is now the Alfonso Wells Memorial Playground.
