Looking up the Pay Streak, Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, 1909
Visitors to the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition crowded to the concessions on the Pay Streak. Here they could enjoy exciting rides, visit a reconstruction of the Streets of Cairo, buy snacks at the Tokio Cafe, and look at native people of the Philippines in a reconstructed village. The Pay Streak was named for the area of the Klondike gold fields where miners spent their pay. This photo shows the crowded Pay Streak at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition in 1909. *Subjects (LCTGM): Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition (1909: Seattle, Wash." Crowds; Fairs
