Phu Non Airfield, June 1966
Phu Nhon is located 55 kilometers south of Pleiku along Route 14. The C Company of the 299th Engineer Battalion constructed a C-130 strip here between 16 May and 6th June. Because of rain, the company was only able to work approximately five days of that period. The strip is 3200 FT long and is covered with T-17 membrane. The parking apron will also be covered with the membrane and will accommodate five C-130 aircraft.
