Truck assembly plant, erected in Iran for Lend-Lease program to Russia, 1943
Lot 11601-4: Persian Corridor – British and American Lend-Lease supplies transferred to the Soviet Union during World War II. This truck assembly plant, erected somewhere in Iran by Americans, is turning out trucks at a rate that would make the best assembly plant in Detroit proud. The trucks are used in hauling supplies to Russia. Trucks given to Russia haul supplies across their border and remain. Photographed by Nick Parrino, 1943. Office of War Information Photograph, 29934-E. (2016/02/19).
