United Nations Command Farewells Peace Builder

Dr. Michael MacArthur Bosack, Deputy Secretary, International Relations Officer of the United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission (UNCMAC) speaks to staff at his farewell at Camp Humphreys Nov. 6. UNCMAC maintains and enforces the 1953 Korean Armistice Agreement which ceased Korean War hostilities and provided a foundation for peacebuilding efforts. The organization controls Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) access and Military Demarcation Line (MDL) crossings, communicates with (North) Korean People’s Army counterparts, and educates South Korean frontline units, professional military education institutions, government and non-government agencies, US military and civilian personnel, and distinguished visitors on the importance of the Armistice Agreement.
