US Navy LCI(L) sinking off Normandy in June 1944
A sinking U.S. Coast Guard manned U.S. Navy LCI(L) limps alongside a transport to evacuate her crew, on "D-Day", 6 June 1944. Wartime censors have painted out the landing craft's number, but she may be LCI(L)-85, sunk by German shell fire off "Omaha" Beach.
