Hubble photos

Images from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope: spiral galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and planets, and the telescope itself during its servicing missions.

Why they are free to use: NASA images are generally not subject to copyright in the US. Many Hubble images are joint NASA/ESA releases; ESA licenses its copies under CC BY 4.0, so images credited to ESA are left out of this index. Each photo's page shows its own licence basis and a credit line.
