Atlantic (1885 ferry) from panorama
The Union Ferry Company's ferryboat Atlantic crossing the East River, ca. 1890s. Atlantic was built in 1885 by the Continental Iron Works of Greenpoint, New York, and was the first steel-hulled ferryboat in New York service. The photo is a detail of a much larger photograph showing a panoramic view across the East River.
