German 8.8cm Pak 43 at Omaha Beach, Normandy, in June 1944 (26-G-2398)
A U.S. Coast Guard man inspects a German 8.8cm Pak 43 at Omaha Beach, Normandy, in June 1944. LCI(L)-416 is visible on the beach. It was sunk by a mine on 6 June 1944. Note that the gun sits in a completely open position and is ready to be towed. It was therefore most probably moved here from somewhere along the beach.
