Schooner Dauntless-2
NYYC vice-commodore Caldwell Hart Colt's schooner Dauntless (formerly L'Hirondelle, originally modelled and built in 1866 as a sloop by the Forsyth & Morgan shipyard), She had been rebuilt as a schooner at the Joseph B. Van Deusen shipyard in 1870, and subsequently had defended the Queen's Cup, where she placed second. She is pictured here on August 8th, 1892, in the Morgan Cup leg of the New York Yacht Club's annual cruise, which she won in her class. * *New York Times - With Balloon jibs set
