Steam locomotive outside the modest home in Jackson, a city in western Tennessee
Steam locomotive outside the modest home in Jackson, a city in central Tennessee, of John Luther Jones — known as Casey Jones — a railroad engineer who was killed running the "Old 382" engine near Vaughn, Mississippi, on April 30, 1900. The incident, in which Jones died when his passenger train collided with a stalled freight train, was immortalized in a popular folk song, "The Ballad of Casey Jones." The Jones home and railroad museum are now the centerpiece of the Casey Jones Village outdoor theme park, in which this remake of Jones's "Old 382" is a feature.
