A German FuMG.65 Würzburg-Riese radar at the StP 74a Le Guay, Pointe et Raz de la Percée, Calvados, France, in 1944. Station 110 "Imme" was operated by 9./FlugmeldeLeitKp, III./LnRgt 53 and operated two FuMG.65 and one FuMG 80/420 Freya. Note the right engine of the Lockheed F-5 Lightning reconnaissance plane. The station was situated between the Pointe de Hoc in the west and Omaha Beach in the east an thus was heavily attacked by Allied aircraft and the radars were put out of action by D-Day. On 6 June 1944, the Luftwaffe personnel crews decided to leave the site and retreat inland, where they were captured by the Americans from Omaha Beach advancing westward.
