German FuMo.214 Würzburg-Riese fire control radar at Arromanches, France, 22 June 1944 (342-FH-3A17206-A72626AC)
A German FuMo.214 Würzburg Riese fire control radar at Notre Dame des Flots (WN 42), Arromanches, Calvados, France, 22 June 1944. Note the "Mulberry A" artificial harbor in the background. The Royal Navy cruiser is most probably HMS Ceres (D59), which was stationed off "Omaha Beach" as "Shuttle Control", expediting the passage and unloading of vessels from the UK to Omaha and Utah Beaches. She remained "On Station" off Omaha Beach for the entire summer of 1944 from the early hours of 7 June until the end of August 1944.
