Schooner Colonia-02

Larchmont Yacht Club Commodore Clarence Ashley Postley's schooner Colonia (designed and built as a sloop in 1893 by Herreshoff to be a candidate in the 1893 America's Cup) rerigged as a schooner under the supervision of Archibald Cary Smith, who fitted her with a centerboard. She is pictured here on the last race of the Larchmont race week, which she won amidst the failure of her opponent the Emerald to start and a streak of other accidents. *New York Times - Colonia as a schooner *New York Times - Accidents at Larchmont
