Schooner Colonia-09
Larchmont Yacht Club Commodore Clarence Ashley Postley's schooner Colonia (designed and built as a sloop in 1893 by Herreshoff to be a candidate in the 1893 America's Cup) rerigged as a schooner under the supervision of Archibald Cary Smith, who fitted her with a centerboard. She is pictured here racing in the New York Yacht Club's annual regatta, which she lost in a close match with the Emerald. *New York Times - Colonia as a schooner *New York Times - Emerald's fine race
